Root and system.
Culture and technology.
Intuition and structure.

Abel Alazo Rangel is a Cuban-Danish creative director and cultural producer based in Copenhagen. His work moves across music, design, digital strategy, writing and technology. Across these fields, one impulse stays constant: helping meaningful work find its form, its context and its audience.

As the founder of Nova Concerts Series and Nova Foundation, he has built an independent platform for Afro-Cuban music, Latin jazz and music from the diaspora in Copenhagen. Through CM Marketing, he brings that same structural thinking to digital visibility, helping companies become clear and visible to the systems people now use to search, ask questions and discover. As co-founder of CM Music with Fernando Florit, he writes about the artists and sounds that matter, from jazz and soul to contemporary African music.

Across all of this, Abel's work is about translation: from intuition into structure, from culture into experience, from complexity into clarity. His practice brings the human depth of cultural work into contact with the strategic clarity of digital systems, using design, AI and storytelling to help important ideas reach the people they are meant for.

The Red Thread

Across music, design, writing, cultural production and digital strategy, Abel's work is guided by the same question: how can something with meaning be given the form, visibility and structure it needs to reach people?

Technology plays a central role in that process. For Abel, digital tools, AI, search systems and emerging platforms are not ends in themselves. They are tools for clarifying meaning, expanding reach and helping work with cultural, human or strategic value meet the audience it deserves.

What connects these fields is the act of translation: from intuition into structure, from culture into experience, from complexity into clarity. Whether working with a concert, a brand, an article, an AI workflow or a digital platform, the aim is the same: to give essential ideas the form and visibility they need to travel.

Different fields.
Same movement.

Creative Direction & Digital Strategy

The same instinct that shapes a concert programme can also shape a brand strategy: understand what is essential, give it form and help it reach the right audience. Through CM Marketing and Creative Meaning Studio, Abel works with B2B clients in finance, technology and professional services, building visibility through SEO, AEO, content strategy and digital design. His work connects creative direction with practical execution, from positioning and messaging to websites, search visibility and AI-ready content. He works at the intersection of AI and strategy, with hands-on experience in prompt engineering, AI-assisted content architecture, digital product prototyping and production-ready workflows. He is currently developing Cited, a SaaS platform that turns AI search visibility into something measurable and actionable, built directly out of his agency practice.

Cultural Production

Nova Concerts Series is Abel's platform for original music events in Copenhagen, with a focus on Afro-Cuban music, Latin jazz and the broader diaspora. The work is rooted in live music as a space of presence, movement and cultural exchange. Nova Foundation extends this direction through structural support for cultural projects, music production, audiovisual work and creative processes connected to diaspora and contemporary performance. He was also co-founder and art director of TITLED Gallery and has co-curated photography exhibitions across international contexts with curator Cila Brosius, including Asia Inside Out at the University of Copenhagen during Asia Week 2023 and Imagined Futures: Transit Corridors in High Mountain Asia at Copenhagen Photo Festival 2023.

Writing & Editorial

At CM Music, co-founded with Fernando Florit, Abel writes about jazz, soul and contemporary music from the African diaspora. The writing is personal, direct and rooted in a deep engagement with music as a living medium. The articles treat music as cultural evidence: what a community keeps, transforms and passes on. They also stay close to a more fragile moment: when a sound from somewhere else lands in a room and changes it. Since 2017, CM Music has run alongside concert production and cultural advocacy, becoming a record of listening, writing and documenting music across borders.
